The Change has Begun!
Previously: I had dipped my toes into helping people make healthy changes in their lives.
Presently: I retired from RE/MAX Mena a month ago. And now I’m forgetting about my toes, and I’m diving in!
My coaching office is set up for appointments. I now have more time to spend helping people individually. We’ve completed a 4-week group class on Sleep, Stress, Nutrition, and Movement.
The class was successful for the attendees, with them wanting to continue the connection, which we are doing with extended classes. The group learned a lot from teachings and tips from several functional medicine doctors and researchers, and they made progress with goals in their own lives, practicing new ideas, different for each one of us, but helping each one of us toward our own personal goals.
As nervous as I was to begin, it was a truly fun time, and we ended our sessions with successes toward our goals, and with new close friendships. And we got to taste some great gluten-free, sugar-free food each week! Then we had a potluck with each of us bringing a healthy food of our choice, and we learned facts about adrenal fatigue.
We’ll be starting a new 4-week class later in September. You may want to attend.
35 years ago, in September, 1987, I was first licensed in real estate. I put my license “inactive” the end of August, 2022. 35 years. I always loved the profession. Challenging at times? Yes. Almost All the Time. But as you overcome the hurdles and wade through those challenges, you grow, and get better. I never quit loving what I did.
But with health issues a few years ago, my heart opened to this new direction. And it feels really good to be helping people find a way to get to good health. When you hit a brick wall with your answers to health problems, I know it can be Frustrating Beyond Measure. You want help, and no one can seem to figure out how to help. That’s where I was.
After much research, I found Functional Medicine, and that’s where my health journey began. I graduated from Functional Medicine Coaching Academy in 2019, and have been guiding people toward healing paths ever since.
I miss my RE/MAX family—Every Single One. They’re still my family. But they’re not GONE. I can visit them any time, and take them some scones (gluten-free, AND Non-gluten-free) any time!
In this past month (of “retirement”) and for a month or so before that, I’ve gotten to enjoy more leisurely sunrises on the deck, lingering awhile with an extra cup of coffee, which has been a true Blessing. I’ve gotten to work a little bit in the garden, eat our own tomatoes, make some new squash dishes with squash from our garden, freezing some of our okra, and make some pickles from our cucumbers. Of course, some of the vegetable-picking was amidst the abundant crop of weeds, but they didn’t seem to hinder the growth of the vegetables that much.
I’ve gotten to spend time in the pool, which has been more relaxation and stress-erasing than any other single thing I can recollect doing in the last several years—pure enjoyment.
In the past few months, I also spent a few days visiting some kids I hadn’t visited in a long while—which was more fun than I can describe. One trip we were all together, which was almost a first, spending days and nights together. One trip was visiting and just mostly hanging out, and eating delicious cooking. Both awesome times more than I can say.
As I write this, I’m excited for the new things I’m learning, and trying to learn, and for the new experiences to come, hopefully with you.
I hope you come along with me as we grow together, making our lives more full, more peaceful and more energetic, looking forward to every single new day we’re blessed with, and taking on our challenges as blessings!
And if you need my help, having too much overwhelm, or stress, or health challenges, I’m here. We can work on it together, and come out stronger, healthier, and with joy for your life!
