COACHING… Boring Subject?
Out of Real Estate, into Coaching; mainly into Group Coaching.
I’m coaching small groups at my coaching office. The coaching is for people wanting help with changing the course of their lives, from overwork and no energy, to greater health resulting in more energy, more sleep, and a more peaceful life.
We’ve covered subjects of overcoming stress, gaining more rest, adding movement and exercise, and re-arranging some of our eating habits, and other related thoughts and ideas.
We’ve learned that small tweaks in these areas can make lots of difference in our health, and in how we feel in our daily lives.
We’re all on a journey. We’ll never be “perfect” if that is even a thing. Our journey is toward health. Toward feeling good. And day by day, we travel that path, learning more about our bodies, and what they want and need. Improving here and there.
We’re investing in ourselves, and in each other, encouraging each other and helping each other.
We’re learning each time we meet, that healthy food tastes good. We try out something new each session, from delicious gluten-free fruit tart, to quiche, to smoothies and delicate crackers of cheese, and other new flavors and foods.
This is a new world for me, after the real estate world for so many years. My heart is full for the people who need help, and do not know a direction to take.
As a people, we work so hard; some of us are proud we can work and work, and keep on working. We come up against obstacle after obstacle, and power-through it, and keep going. We consider it a win. We can do it!
But it’s not a win. Our bodies weren’t meant to go full speed continuously. Our bodies were made to give us signals so we know when to give them a break. To let them rest a bit. To let our minds reflect a little.
When we take a pause, and listen for some clues from our bodies, it is like a special breath of air. It gives us new life. But we don’t do that…WHY?
How important are those things, really, compared to the energy and health it steals from us when we’re not looking…and when we go so fast, I assure you, we’re not looking. I personally believe it’s a trick of the devil himself, to make us weak on our life’s journey.
We don’t notice, at first, the changes that happen. Our mindset says, I need to get this done. Pretty soon, it says it, Again. And Again. And one more time. “I can do it”. “I can take it”. And we do.
Until our body says, That’s Enough. No more hints. We can’t go on like this. Then ill health finds a crack in our armor. And that’s the beginning of Dis-Ease. Sometimes years and years before we actually wake up to it, and are terribly sick.
Come with me. Let’s learn the ways of the wise, and care for ourselves. So we can be strong, and actually “feel” what’s going on around us in the “NOW”…actually have space in our lives to appreciate and enjoy the love of our family and friends…and to give that same love and appreciation to help and grow the people who are important to us.
Come… Go with me.
