We’re hearing a lot about Toxins in our bodies lately. It looks like there’s work being done to help us get some of them out of our lives.
And one good thing I see is that we as a population, are being educated about how much we normally take in every day.
******************
Do you agree with getting these poisons out of our living?
Here are a few one-sentence statements that tell us a lot about our food today. (And this is just our food)
1. A large percentage of Fish Oil supplements go rancid before we buy them.
2. Rotisserie chicken is pumped full of preservatives, sugar and more.
3. Most protein bars are junk, full of cheap ingredients, poor quality protein and processed non-food.
4. Sugar is poison.
5. Most ultra-processed food is made with the cheapest ingredients available, including the cheapest wheat.
6. We get an over-abundance of “wheat” in our diet From ready-made “food”, causing people to get an overdose of gluten, and in turn causing more and more people to be gluten-sensitive.
********************
And here are just a very few statistics (These statistics are reported by Dr. Mark Hyman).
There are 10,000 chemicals allowed in American food; there are 338 chemicals allowed in Europe.
In America, over 7 million children have been diagnosed with ADHD;
75% of our population is overweight or obese.
38% of our teens have pre-diabetes.
Diabetes in adolescents has increased 200% in the past decade.
ADHD diagnoses is up 800%.
Autism in the past 40 years has increased from 4 in 10,000 to 1 in 36 children.
20% of our kids have been diagnosed with a mental health issue.
67% of our kids have ultra-processed foods as their constant diet.
Childhood obesity is up 400% in the past 40 years.
#1 Root Cause: Our Food.
The Food and Pharmaceutical industries profit from this.
The biggest food corporation of all, PepsiCo, has announced they will remove artificial dyes from 8 brands under their portfolio. (PepsiCo is the maker of Doritos, Gatorade, Cheetos, Cap’n’ Crunch and Mountain Dew.). They haven’t specified yet which brands this will include.
They (PepsiCo) already sell most of these in other countries without dyes.
The CEO of Mondelez (maker of Oreo and Ritz) recently said that reformulation to “European Standards” is “work that needs to be done” in the U. S. It will be coming.
The big farm industry that feeds the animals for the meat (all kinds) we buy in the grocery store… is another industry that needs great revision.
*****************
We get constant exposure to environmental toxins even through our very breathing, through skin contact, and of course, through ingestion.
These toxins are linked to many common diseases, including:
heart disease
diabetes,
cancer
dementia and Alzheimer’s
Possibly the most terrible part is that these health effects are gradual, and they are hard to pinpoint a single cause. It’s also the cumulative effect of years of exposure that leads to the final disease.
They damage our cells by attacking our DNA, proteins and cell membranes, which lead to organ damage.
They generate free radicals, which triggers oxidative stress, which triggers chronic inflammation, and faster aging, which also increases our risk of disease.
Our bodies have natural ways of dealing with these toxins—like a small drain at the bottom of your bucket. Our liver, kidneys and other organs work to filter out and get rid of them.
But if our bucket of toxins gets filled up, coming from one source after another, or if it gets over-filled all at once, faster than it can drain, our bucket overflows.
This is when we begin to feel unwell, or start to experience various health issues. Our bodies are saying, “Stop!! That’s too much for me to handle!”
**************
These are some of the toxins that build up in our mind and body, and cause disease:
1. Emotional and Mental, including loneliness, pessimistic thoughts, unhealthy relationships.
2. Beauty and Personal Care, including deodorant, amalgam fillings, Botox, Bug repellant, dental floss, hair dye, hair styling products, lotions, sunscreen and tattoos.
3. Technology, including blue light, power lines, radiation, x-rays, cell phone.
4. Clothing. Detergent, dry cleaning and fabric softener sheets
5. Food & Water, including aluminum cans, artificial sweeteners, coffee pods, growth hormones in meat and dairy, pesticides/herbicides/insecticides, plastic water bottles, refined foods (flour, salt, sugar), unfiltered tap water.
6. Cooking. Aluminum foil, plastic storage containers, styrofoam, non-stick cookware
7. Home & Environment. Aerosols, air fresheners, candles, cigarette smoke, furniture/mattresses, mold, paints, swimming pool chemicals, thermal receipts.
These give you an idea of how we LIVE in a toxic soup.
BUT we can reduce the amount of toxins that we take in. Reduce the size of the bucket so our body can get rid of the rest of it on its own.
SO. Exactly what can be done?!
1. Reduce the amount of toxins coming in.
a. Make healthier choices in what we eat
b. Know where your meat comes from if possible
c. Use products that are “clean” especially on your body
d. Clean your home with toxin-free products (use essential oils or products made free of these contaminates)
e. Leave off sugary drinks—including toxic “diet drinks”
f. Avoid eating and drinking from plastic
g. Use glass, stainless steel or ceramic containers for food storage.
h. Do not use Teflon, etc., or any pans peeling at the bottom.
2. Exercise. Daily. This is a natural detoxification process.
3. Get good sleep. 7-9 hours. It’s a natural detox process, also.
4. Drink lots of clean water, to support good kidney function and to promote sweating.

A multi-pronged approach is best.
