2026… What’s New for You?
Do you usually start the new year with “New Years’ Resolutions”?
Most of us have learned those “Resolutions” don’t last.
Usually we ask ourselves what we want to improve.
There’s a better way.
Instead of asking what we should change, try asking instead, “What do I want for my life? What do I want my life to look like?… to feel like?
If you want to exercise more, why do you want to do that?
If you want to eat better, why?
What do you really want to change?
*************
If you want more peace…
… more energy…
… Better A1C or blood pressure numbers…
… less joint pain…
… more restful sleep…
… clearer thinking…
… to feel, and looked younger… healthier…
Why do you want those things?
How would your life change?
What would your life truly look like if those changes happened?
How would it feel, day-to-day?
Really, seriously. What would your life truly be like if you had those precious changes in your life?
Spend some quiet time with that question. Real-life deep thinking about how your life would feel.
If you can answer these questions in your mind and heart, that’s where your real change starts.
************
There are things you can do to get those changes in your life.
1. The first and most important thing is to know how you want your life to be. To know how you want to see your life if you had those changes. You’ll have a productive start if you think on that. Think on your “Life”. This is your Vision… Your vision of how it could be.
(I never knew what it was like to have a vision. I felt like I was limited in every area of my life. It took most of my life to realize I could control most things in my life—by changing the direction of my path. But before I could go forward on that path, my Vision had to come first.)
2. The second thing is probably believing that you can control your Life. And your Health. YOU can do it. Believe it. Because you absolutely can.
We’ve been conditioned to believe that we must accept our current health condition, and our future as it seems to be. But the Changes you want, CAN happen. We CAN make changes—if we have a Vision we’re working toward.
3. Getting the poisons out of your life is a good third project. Poison “food”, poison “skin care”, poison cleansers and household items, poison cookware, etc. Replace them with organic, real food… with real grass-fed meat. Use “clean” poison-free household items and skin care.
a. Coconut oil all by itself makes a great face cleanser.
b. Essential oils make great household items for all kinds of uses, along with baking soda, and vinegar.
4. Realize that you can never be totally healthy and energetic, and thinking more clearly… without exercise. If you want the truly good things of life—your health, you must make peace with exercise. For your heart, your skin, your breathing, your brain—all the systems in your body must have it.
a. Dance. Alone if you want…(I love it!) …To the music you like. Making whatever movements you enjoy. I promise you, it’s fun! And beneficial.
b. Walking in the early morning sun—even for just a little bit—helps everything about how your day goes, including how you sleep that night. Enjoy it. Breathe it in.
c. Go to the gym if you want, or if it helps you be more consistent, but you can exercise without it.
d. Exercise once or twice a week is ok, but will probably not make changes in your body that you can actually see and feel. (Skip a day… but try not to skip two. It sets you up to quit.)
e. Whatever exercise you do…and whatever time you spend—a few minutes, or an hour+, please take the opportunity to enjoy it. Then it can really make a difference in your life.
5. Be at peace with people around you as much as you can. Nurture your relationships, and be open to building new ones.
6. Spend part of every day resting/relaxing. Give it some priority every day.
7. Spend time talking to God about it. Thank Him for the opportunity to work on changes. Ask Him to help you.
Change all at once? No. You’ll likely overwhelm yourself and quit. Pick one thing you want to change—one thing you feel would help you reach your goal. Complete one small task toward that one thing.
Be gentle with yourself, but be consistent. Be diligent, because you want to actually change your life. And you CAN do it.
What if you mess up? That’s ok. Start right up again. Help yourself enjoy the change… and enjoy the beginnings of your success in changing your life.
(And Perfection is not your Goal.) Again, be gentle with yourself. It’s important.
One small victory gives you the energy to win another hurdle! Just take another step.
Good Health is the Path to your Vision.
If you would like more information about any of these things, or would like some help in any area, talk to me about your health. You can change your life. I can help you.
